NMicrosoft Office Access, previously known as Microsoft Access, is a relational database management system from Microsoft which combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface. It is a member of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. NAccess can us e data stored in Access/Jet, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or any ODBC-compliant data container. Skilled software developers and data architects use it to develop application software. Relatively unskilled programmers and non-programmer 'power users' can use it to build simple applications.
CustomGuide’s Microsoft Access 2010 course shows how to manage, create, and Office 2010 Win Excel 2010 Turn unorganized data into useful information and quickly make spreadsheets your friends.
It supports some object-oriented (OO) techniques but falls short of being a fully OO development tool. NAccess was also the name of a communications program from Microsoft, meant to compete with ProComm and other programs. This Access proved a failure and was dropped. Years later Microsoft reused the name for its database software. There are several applications on the Mac that can read Microsoft Office files. First, Microsoft has released Mac versions of Office: Office v.X was released in 2001 for the new Mac OS X platform. Office 2004 was released in 2004.
Office 2008 was released in 2008. It was the first Office for Ma c suite that was a universal binary, meaning it runs natively on both Intel and PowerPC based Macs - and used XML file formats. Microsoft announced on May 13, 2008, that Office 2008 sold faster than any previous version of Office for Mac. Apple's Pages can work with Word files. NeoOffice can work with Office files.

For years, Microsoft Access was one of their most arcane and inaccessible applications, but it's now much easier to work with. Instead of complex commands, you can drag and drop data into ready-made templates. It's powerful enough for large organizations, as well as being easy enough to use for smaller businesses and nonprofit organizations. Microsoft Access is also helped by its total integration with the other Office applications, meaning importing from Word or Excel is painless and easy.
Like all of the current Office suite programs, with Microsoft Access you can create files that can be simultaneously used by multiple people. There is also help for creating formulas in databases, meaning you don't need to be an expert to do it. Microsoft Access 2010 maintains all the power of previous versions, while introducing the user friendly and attractive interface that makes Office such a great suite. By Anonymous 2010 doesn't work with expressions - Useless to me.
I have used and deployed Access databases from Access 2 to Access 2007. Take an M S template from MS website. Open a query which contains an expression. Add a field to the query. A field from their sample table and an error message appears when I try to run the query. I look at the query again and all the commas have disappeared from the expression and it doesn't matter what I try I cannot fix the expression.
2010 doesn't work with expressions. It is useless. I am trying to find out how to downgrade to 2007. I have a similar problem with Excel 2010. Pros: None until the bugs are worked out of it. It doesn't work.
Cons: It doesn't work with expressions of any sort. I have to tell my clients that I cannot support Access 2010 so if they upgrade it is at their own risk. Reviewed on July 30, 2012.
By Anonymous This is the most unstable crappy program ever! There are so many bugs in this version of office it is ridiculous!
I just had to teach a class how to use it and found that when everyone was on the same screen performing the same query, with everyone's database set up the same way; some worked, and some would not! I am not a computer instructor, I am a business admin instructor. I cant answer why these things were happening. So I looked stupid and got a poor review from my students which is appropriate. Access 2010 is the worst version of this system that microsoft has ever relesed. I beg you please return to the 2007 version! Reviewed on November 26, 2011.
