As to the Mac, search for ‘mac best email client.’ You will notice that Outlook often is not even mentioned in comparisons. And yes, Exchange also doesn’t really matter on the Mac. If you really need it, you can use the built-in mail client. It is very reliable and has all features that most users need.
You can type the search criteria into the Instant Search box to search emails between two dates quickly. Please do as follows: For example you want to search emails received between 2016/3/1 and 2016/3/31.

Please type the search criteria received:2016/3/1.2016/3/31 into the Instant Search box, and then all emails received in this date range will be found out immediately. See screenshot below: Note: It requires to type the dates in the default date format in your computer, such as received:3/1/2016.3/31/2016. Search emails by date range with Advanced Find feature. You can also configure the Advanced Find criteria to search emails by specific date range, such as between two dates, before a certain date, or after a certain date, etc. Select the email folder where you will search emails by the specific date range, put the cursor into the Instant Search box to activate the Search Tools, and then click Search Search Tools Advanced Find. See screenshot: 2.
In the opening Advanced Find dialog box, please go the Advanced tab, and (see screenshot below): (1) Click Field All Mail fields Received; (2) Select the between from the Condition drop down list; (3) In the Value box, type the date range in the format of and, such as and; (4) Click the Add to List button. Note: For searching emails before (or after) a certain date, please select the on or before (or on or after) from the Condition drop down list, and then type the certain date into the Value box.
Now the searching criteria has been added into the Find items that mat these criteria box. Keep selecting the added searching criteria, and click the Find Now button. See screenshot below: Now all emails received in the specified date range are found out and listed at the bottom of Advanced Find dialog box. See screenshot below: Search emails by date range with Query Builder feature. Enable the Query Builder in Outlook. Click Kutools Options, and then in the opening Options button, check the Restore 'Query Builder' tab in Outlook Advanced Find Dialog option on the Others tab, and click the OK button. See screenshot below: Note: This step is just for the first time.
If the Query builder has been enabled already, please skip this step. Select the email folder where you will search emails by the specific date range, put the cursor into the Instant Search box to activate the Search Tools, and then click Search Search Tools Advanced Find. See screenshot: 3.
In the opening Advanced Find dialog box, please go to the Query Builder tab, and (see below screenshot): (1) Click Field All Mail fields Received; (2) Select the on or before from the Condition drop down list; (3) In the Value box, type the date you will find emails before. In our case, we type 2016/3/1. (4) Click the Add to List button.
(5) Repeat above (1) -(4) to add a searching criteria as Received on or after 2016/3/31. Now we have added two searching criteria.
Please go ahead to select the OR from the logical Group drop down list, and click the Find Now button. See screenshot below: And now all emails received before 2016/3/1 and emails received after 2016/3/31 are found out and listed at the bottom of Advanced Find dialog box at once. Jgor415 wrote: I running into an issue where searching emails are not working in Outlook 2016 on a MAC. Normally my troubleshooting steps are to recreate the OST or reindex or creating a new profile.
My questions are Does MAC have Cache mode for Outlook 2016? After googling it seems that is not the case but not 100% sure Does MAC have an OST? I tried to search for an OST and nothing came up.
Any help I appreciate it Hi jgor415, In response to your question(s): Outlook 2016 for Mac does indeed have cache, this can be cleared by doing the following:. In the navigation pane, Ctrl+click or right-click the Exchange folder for which you want to empty the cache, and then click Properties.
On the General tab, click Empty Cache. After the folder is empty, Outlook automatically downloads the items from the Exchange server.
Outlook 2016 for Mac works slightly different than on a Windows PC - they don't have an OLM and also a profile folder for Outlook I would create an export of the OLM (outlook for Mac data file) before messing around too much:. Select File in the upper left of the Outlook, the Export from the drop down menu. If you applied categories to items for export, check the Items that are in the category option and use the drop down menu to select the category. To export everything in Outlook (all account/folder headings in your Outlook list, including any existing On My Computer folders) you can choose Items of these types: and check which types of items (Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc.) to include.

Cick Continue when ready. Outlook will prompt to choose a location to save the export file; be sure to keep it in a location you will remember. You can also re-name the file using the Save As field.Outlook will begin exporting. It may take a while if a lot of items were selected. An Export Complete message will appear, click Finish or Done to exit.The.olm (export) file will be in the location selected in step 4. The messages, contacts, etc. In it can only be viewed again after importing into Outlook. Import is practically the reverse, more details and a how-to guide here: Once you have a backup, i'd then try and re-import to verify that it works as a 'backup'.
Then delete the account and re-add (importing the OLM) as you go. As a last shot the files can be found in a profile folder but i dont know how much use that would be to you:- The files are found in a directory similar to: /Users/me/Library/Group Containers/123THEID.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile/Data/Messages/ You will find a lot of folders with numerical names, from 0 to 255. There doesn't seem to be any alphabetical or chronological logic to it, so it's all a dumb storage with the mapping done in some other folder or DB. A good candidate is /Main Profile/Data/Outlook.sqlite. The new sqlite database offers great advantage in speed and performance, all data, including archived mails are stored in one giant SQL database. This makes it impossible to separate between old archives and the latest mail store Let us know how you get on, Cheers Ste.
